Mission: Barbershop Books, Inc. is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit literacy organization. We believe that when communities provide kids with early, positive, and culturally meaningful reading experiences, they identify as readers and read for fun. Our programs distribute fun, kid-approved books to barbershops and community-based organizations across America.
Black Men Read
Mission: BLACK MEN READ is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to ignite and empower communities of color by inspiring literacy. Through mentorship and advocacy, we aim to improve educational outcomes and foster a lifelong love of reading with a focus on Black men and boys.

We provide affordable, direct to doorstep, African - American literacy, as a subscription based business.
EduColor
Mission: We amplify the works and ideas of students, educators, and communities of color through supportive on- and off-line networks and professional development. EduColor was founded by people of color, with people of color, for people of color.
Encouraging Our Sons to Read: A Community Call to Action
Say It Loud! Readers & Writers will partner with numerous organizations throughout the country to host events promoting the importance of developing reading projects and programs for Black male children and youth. The events will feature local and nationally recognized artist, authors, business owners, educators and youth advocates participating in community forums, symposiums, radio broadcast, book discussions and book signings.
Equity Literacy Institute
The ELI offers resources, scholarship, and workshops to help individuals become threats to race, class and other inequities in their spheres of influence.
Eyeseeme Foundation
The Foundation's mission is to create programs that increase childhood literacy for under-served communities and to promote African American History and multicultural literature that will increase respect and tolerance for diverse cultures.

Mission: Line4Line is a unique community-based literacy program that seeks to close the achievement gap for African American boys in Baton Rouge; supports families in raising successful children; creates opportunities for youth that build self-esteem through a variety of engaging academic and creative enrichment programs; empowers and engages credible community mentors as change agents to strengthen community from within.
National Association Of Black Male Educators
Mission: The mission of the National Association of Black Male Educators is to dramatically increase the number of marginalized children who succeed by dramatically increasing the number of highly effective black and brown male teachers and leaders who positively impact them.
Young Black & Lit
Our mission is simple, to increase access to children's books that center, reflect, and affirm the experiences of Black children. Young, Black & Lit sources and distributes new children's books featuring Black main characters to youth at no cost to the youth or their families.
